Green shipping route launched at Klaipėda Container Terminal
KCT operated by KT Group became the first cargo terminal in Klaipėda port to handle the container ship ECO UMANDE sailing on the green shipping route.
The X-Press Feeders’ green methanol-powered container ship Eco Umande arrived at the Port of Klaipeda for the first time.
“This is not only an important milestone for the Klaipėda Container Terminal, but also a significant step towards sustainability in the Baltic region. We are responsibly prepared to service not only conventional ships, but also green ships that actively contribute to a lower environmental impact,” says Mindaugas Songaila, Head of Commerce.
The ship will visit Klaipėda every two weeks on the route Rotterdam – Antwerp – Klaipėda – Riga – Rotterdam.
