On 26 July of this year, an agricultural product complex service centre was opened in Malkų įlankos terminalas. The investments into this project exceeded 5 million euro. Services related to agricultural products will be provided in this new modern centre: grain drying, cleaning and storage.
This investment will significantly increase competitive advantage of Malkų įlankos terminalas, UAB belonging to KTG. In 2016, the terminal handled more than 1 million tons of cargo, and agricultural products accounted for 25 per cent of grain loaded to ships in the Port of Klaipėda.
“Up to 140,000 t of agricultural products are stored in terminal warehouses, and the annual grain handling capacity exceeds 1 million tons,” – J. Kiršis, the head of Malkų įlankos terminalas, UAB, tells.
Malkų įlankos terminalas is the only terminal in Klaipėda accepting grain directly from fields without taking into consideration the moisture thereof. For the convenience of clients, 7,000 sq. m. transport flow regulation and laboratory test platform is installed. It will be able to accept up to 400 t of grain per hour, and the dryer will dry approx. 120 t of grain during the same period.
